Course Content:

This Virtual IOSH Legionella Management Refresher course provides an in-depth update of the risks posed by Legionella bacteria and is aimed at delegates that have previously completed the full 2-day IOSH Approved Legionella Management for Responsible Persons Course.

The 1-day programme is designed to revisit the fundamentals from the 2-day course whilst also giving delegates a complete update in the latest controls, discussions and changes in the relevant legislation.

The course will involve a combination of tutor-led instruction, practical exercises as well allowing delegate-led discussions on issues and questions that they may have encountered since their previous course, enabling the delegates to leave with comprehensive answers and solutions to their problems,

A final written assessment will ensure that participants leave the course with the ability to continue to perform their legionella management effectively.

The course is approved and certified by IOSH, the lead professional body for safety in Europe.

Learning Objectives

On completion, delegates will have an updated working knowledge of the latest legislation and practical applications within industry and how they apply to their workplace.

Delegates will also have revisited the practice and theory of Legionella management to enable them to:

• Continue to carry out simple Legionella risk assessments or be able to critique 3rd party assessments

• Review and revise current water sampling and testing programmes

• Review and revise practical control and management of Legionella within systems

• Review and revise maintenance schedules to support the control systems

• Fulfil their role of Responsible Person and/or Duty Holder

Prerequisites

Delegates will have previously completed the full 2-day IOSH Approved Legionella Management for Responsible Persons Course within the past 3 years.

Who Should Attend?

Any member of staff who may likely be a ‘Responsible Person’ for the management of Legionella. It is also suitable for engineers and managers with other responsibilities related to legionella management, as well as health and safety professionals responsible for performing legionella risk assessments and audits.
