Our 2 day IOSH Approved Legionella Management course aims to equip engineers, managers, safety advisors and facilities teams with the responsibilities of Legionella Control within their company, to be able understand their legal requirements and promote best practice.

The course focuses on an appreciation of the risks posed by Legionella and how to ensure the company is complying with the requirements set out in the CoSHH Regulations and Legionella ACOP L8 / HSG 274 & HSG 282.

During the course, the delegates will complete a number of risk assessments on different water applications and will also learn how to critique contractors sampling programmes to ensure the requirements are being properly met.

The course also covers aspects such as maintenance programmes and keeping Log Book records as required in L8.

This IOSH Approved Legionella Management course provides an in-depth overview of the risks posed by Legionella bacteria and the tools available to evaluate and control them effectively, whilst complying with L8.

The 2-day programme is designed to give delegates a thorough insight into their legal obligations regarding Legionella management and the principal factors that need to be considered when performing a Legionella risk assessment. Through a combination of tutor instruction and practical exercises, they will develop key skills in:

• best practice approaches to managing Legionella bacteria
• the main components of an effective preventive maintenance
• plan the requirements of a successful water sampling programme

A final written assessment will ensure that participants leave the course with the ability to perform their Legionella management effectively.

This IOSH Approved Legionella Management course is suitable for engineers, managers, safety advisors and facilities teams with responsibilities related to Legionella management, as well as health and safety professionals responsible for performing Legionella risk assessments.

It is perfect for Duty Holders, Responsible Persons, Deputy Responsible Persons and other Appointed/Nominated People with day-to-day responsibilities such as temperature taking and cleans and disinfections.

Qualification

Successful completion of this course results in the delegate gaining an IOSH Approved Certificate in Legionella Management for Responsible Persons. In addition, this course can also result in CPD hours towards maintaining your membership at your professional institute.
