Below are some questions and answers which we often deal with. If you have a question that is not covered here, please contact us.
Who are ISAC UK Ltd?
We are a small but specialised Health and Safety company and have been around for over 25yrs! Specialising predominantly in the fields of Legionella Management, Machinery Safety (PUWER) and Modern CoSHH Management our consultants work closely with you to offer advice and clear solutions that not only meet your legal requirements but that also represent best practice within the industry.
Why should I pick ISAC UK Ltd?
We are both flexible and honest in our approach and work tirelessly to develop and help implement any control programmes into your business alongside you and your team to ensure that they are a success. We are well respected in our industry and whilst you may not have heard of us before we are often the recommended company of choice, in particular through word of mouth based on our extensive knowledge and industrial experience. ISAC UK Ltd do not pursue all advertising streams like many other companies do as we prefer to develop less but far richer relationships with our clients. As the saying goes ‘quality not quantity’ is our motto and that is what we ensure we deliver to each client that chooses us. By picking us as your Health and Safety consultants and/or trainers you will be guaranteed to have sound, honest advice from competent contractors that have no remit to up sell further goods to you like many of our competitors.
Who has ISAC UK Ltd worked with in the past?
We have worked with some of the biggest names within industry. Sometimes this has been through offering consultancy services and sometimes this has been through running IOSH Approved In-House courses but often with both strands of our business, and for significant amounts of time. For a small selection of some of the companies that we have (and still) work closely with please visit our client list page.
Do you have any references that we can look at?
On request, we can more often than not provide a reference relevant to your particular industry or issue. On occasions we may also be able to provide (with permission) a contact from our clients that you can also email to find out more on what it is like working with us. With regards to our training courses, we often try to update our client reviews section to provide you with the latest course reviews from our delegates. These can be found on the side of many of our webpages but also on the dedicated testimonial page.
Who / What is IOSH?
The Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) is the world's largest professional health and safety membership organisation and is home to over 45,000 members worldwide. Furthermore, it is the only Chartered body for health and safety professionals in the world. Founded in 1945, and a registered charity since 1962, IOSH has developed a highly respected, formal, accreditation process for its approved courses and as such quality can be assured.
Is IOSH Approved training similar to other training such as City and Guilds / BOHS / Pilz or Water Management Society?
Our IOSH Approved Training courses in the fields of Legionella Management, Machinery Safety and Modern CoSHH Management have been solely developed by us at ISAC UK Ltd. They have undergone the formal approval process with IOSH to ensure that they have met the standard required in order to carry the highly acclaimed IOSH badge. Our lecturers have been presenting and authoring these courses for the past 20yrs and to ensure that they maintain the necessary standard with IOSH are filled with up-to-the-minute content, including any changes to the law, best practices, relevant examples and scenarios that delegates expect when they come on to any modern day course. Our IOSH Approved courses offer a huge depth of detail and content and we fill them to the brim, maximising the knowledge and information transfer to our delegates in sensible time frames. Whilst some courses out there promise to give you a good understanding after 3-4 days or can be built up over 1 day modules we provide the perfect compromise for industry and have tailored the content to appeal to whatever your position is.
Where are your open courses run?
Our open courses are run in Derby at the Holiday Inn Express, Pride Park. We chose this venue as it is a professional setting whilst being comfortable for our delegates. It is centrally located and is a stones throw away from Derby station which is a huge benefit if considering travel to courses for businesses. For more information please see our Training facilities page.
Do you deliver in house courses at peoples premises?
Yes. In fact the vast majority of our training courses are delivered in-house at our client's premises. Covering the full length, and breadth, of the UK we can provide our IOSH Approved courses on your doorstep, at your convenience and within your required timeframes. For more information on the cost in-house courses please contact us now on our corporate enquiry tab at the top of the page.
Do you just run IOSH Approved courses or can you tailor one for us?
As well as our IOSH Approved training courses in Legionella Management, Machinery Safety (PUWER) and Modern CoSHH Management we also have a large number of other training courses that we can provide. These come in the form of the following examples but are not exhaustive: Working at Height, Air Monitoring and LEV Inspection, Risk Assessment, Managing Safely in Horticulture, Legionella Awareness and CoSHH Awareness. The courses can last as long as your requirements as well, so if you need a half day course, a one-day course or even a week long course we can tailor and deliver the course that your company needs.
Do you offer consultancy in my area of the country?
Yes, like much like our training courses we are able offer our consultancy services pretty much anywhere within the UK.
Can you help us with external stakeholders such as the HSE, Fire departments and Environmental officers?
Yes. A lot of our consultancy work stems from the fact that an impending visit is due by an external stakeholder. We work very closely with our clients to ensure that they have everything in place ahead of the visit, followed by offering our services during the day to ensure that the client is well represented and a successful outcome can be achieved.
Can you help us with Accident investigation?
Yes. We have been involved in a large number of accident investigations over the years and have often been called as expert witnesses for the defence team, during court cases. ISAC UK Ltd will provide you with a comprehensive approach to the investigation itself and competent, expert advice afterwards to ensure that it does not happen again.

If this happens, we will contact you at least two weeks before the course is due to start and offer you either a transfer to another course or a full refund.
